Bauder Makes Roofing Awards 2020 Shortlist

Bauder is delighted to have made the shortlist for the 2020 Roofing Awards with an impressive total of five projects featuring among the finalists.

The Roofing Awards is a major event in the roofing industry calendar and we work closely with our approved contractors to submit stunning projects that showcase the skills and talent of our badged operatives in often very challenging circumstances.

The hot melt category Bauder finalist is Benson House. This refurbishment of office space in the city centre of Leeds included landscaping around the site to transform an existing podium car park into a landscaped deck and a new scheme to complement the updated entrance. Expertly installed by Protech (Leeds), the team had to overcome an uneven substrate, restricted access for deliveries and constant traffic from other trades.

Basildon and Thurrock Hospital has been shortlisted in the cold liquid applied category. The challenging roofscape of this project tested the skills of the operatives installing the waterproofing as the extensive plant presented tricky details in close quarters. By using Bauder's cold liquid applied waterproofing, contractors Breyer Group, ensured reliable waterproofing across the entire rooftop with no downtime for the hospital whilst works were carried out.
 
We are delighted to have been a part of three of the shortlisted projects in the green roof category. Lagg Distillery, NFRC Scottish Roofing Contractor of the Year award winner, posed unique challenges for approved contractors, Greenroof Ltd. Despite the extremely windy coastal location, the varied deck pitches and the fact that all site deliveries were dependent on the island ferry, our expert installers achieved an extraordinary outcome. Lagg Distillery now has a stunning, environmentally sensitive roof that reflects the surrounding landscape.

Living roof specialists, Bridgman and Bridgman have submitted two prestigious projects: IKEA Greenwich and Noah's Ark Children's Hospice. Bauder had the pleasure of working alongside Bridgman and Bridgman and approved contractors MIZ Ltd and Voland Roofing respectively on these sites.
