Roof surveys and diagnostics
Detecting the challenge and specifying a solution to re-establish the integrity of your flat roof.
Roof surveys and reports
Your project is as important to us as it is to you and that is why the complimentary survey report you receive will examine all aspects of your roof, consider the problematic areas and propose the right waterproofing solution to meet the needs of the building and that of each roof area.
Utilising testing methods such as core sampling and moisture mapping will additionally pinpoint any water ingress so that informed decisions can be made on the exact repair and refurbishment works required. Our standard surveys are carried out without charge.
Our roof reports encompass:
Identifying and pinpointing water ingress
Technical roof diagnostics support and enhance our flat roof review survey by verifying the exact levels and locations of moisture within existing waterproofing systems.
The readings from the testing method give objective information about the true condition of a roof, eliminating conflicting opinions and advice so that sound decisions can be made on the roofing options.
Overlay or replace?
Overlaying a flat roof
It is possible to overlay an existing roof covering if the current roof is sound, dry and free from water damage. The overlay materials must be compatible with existing materials.
Flat roof replacement
If there is doubt over the long-term integrity of a roof or there is significant moisture present within the system or underlying screed, the roof coverings should always be removed. When stripping the roof, it is crucial to consider removing the drainage falls. If the drainage falls are removed, it is necessary to incorporate a new screed, or more conveniently use tapered insulation to maintain adequate drainage.
