Biodiverse roofs are designed to create a wide range of different habitats. This includes undulating substrates, stone and dead wood piles, bare sandy areas and dew ponds. This matrix of different habitats allows the broadest range of flora and fauna to thrive.

Bauder has worked with the charity Buglife to produce specifications that ensure the roof areas maximize their ecological potential.

When to specify

Lightweight extensive biodiverse green roof vegetation meets the growing demand for native species vegetation to contribute to BREEAM assessment ratings or a biodiversity strategy for Urban Greening Factor (UGF) and Biodiveristy Net Gain (BNG)

The different wildflower vegetation options range from pre-cultivated native species blanket, to plug plants or seeds depending on the desired finish when construction is completed and budget.
