Southfields Road Development

Synopsis

Bauder supplied the complete roof build‑up for the Southfields Road social‑housing project, delivering a coordinated warm‑roof system designed to support both extensive landscaping and an integrated solar array. The work centred on installing a reinforced bitumen membrane warm roof over a new concrete deck, beginning with preparation of the substrate and application of the Bauder AVCL to establish moisture control across the roof area.

Once the air and vapour control layer was in place, Bauder PIR FA‑TE insulation was adhered to achieve the required thermal performance of 0.15 W/m²K. The insulation layer was followed by a self‑adhesive underlayer and finished with the Bauder PLANT E 42 root‑resistant capping sheet, forming a durable waterproofing system suitable for green roof applications. Regular Bauder site inspections ensured the build‑up met the specification before any landscaping was installed.

The project incorporated an extensive green roof finish alongside the Bauder BioSOLAR G2 system. This allowed the PV modules to be secured within the green roof zone, avoiding roof penetrations and simplifying detailing around the solar mounting. Parapet drainage was managed using Bauder’s DN100 bituminous outlets, coordinated as part of the waterproofing package.

Balcony and walkway areas were completed using the cold‑applied LiquiTEC/LiquiBALKON system to provide a seamless waterproof finish in locations with foot traffic.

Together, the works delivered a fully compatible green roof and PV system, installed under Bauder’s inspection regime and backed by a 20‑year product and workmanship guarantee.
