Supporting therapy pony visits at Lister Hospital
CharityAt Lister Hospital, every three weeks, it has been organised for therapy ponies to visit patients and staff. Funded by the East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals Charity, the visits aim to create a relaxing environment, help those in need feel at ease, reduce stress, and bring happiness to the hospital. The ponies are shampooed and dust-free to ensure cleanliness when entering the hospital environment.
Bauder and fellow sponsors have together funded the whole year of visits for 2024 and named the support they provide to the hospital as the ‘Pony Club’. James Utting, Bauder Area Technical Manager, volunteers at the hospital to support the patient engagement team by getting involved in various activities, including assisting with pony visits on the wards.
James said: "It has been my pleasure to bring together what we have cheekily named the Pony Club. We are four businesses that are all passionate about giving back to the local community and are proud to be partners to help make a real difference to those in need. Having seen first-hand how much joy the ponies bring to patients when they arrive on the ward, it’s wonderful to know that our funding will spread even more smiles at our hospital."
Head of Fundraising for East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity, Beth McNeil, said: “Thank you so much to the wonderful Pony Club for sponsoring the therapy ponies and bringing so much joy to the hospital. We are extremely grateful for their support.”
Bauder looks forward to continuing to support Stevenage’s Lister Hospital 'Pony Club'.
