Site Technician Raises Money for Make-A-Wish UK

The challenge consisted of running 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours. A total of 48 miles was run by each of the participants - making it ultra-marathon territory.

Make-A-Wish Foundation empowers a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition to choose a wish that is unique to them. Around 63,000 children in the UK are eligible for a wish and without the generosity of the public these life-changing experiences are not able to happen. The group chose this charity as that they wanted to make a difference to the lives of terminally ill children. They said “The pain suffered when doing this challenge was worth it if we could help grant at least one child their final wish.”.

The challenge proved to be tough both physically and mentally, especially with the lack of sleep. Team morale remained high throughout, as they worked together to complete the challenge.

In total the group smashed their target and raised over £6,000 for the charity, including a donation from Bauder. Simon commented “The highlight of the day was receiving an email from Make-A-Wish explaining how they were following our progress on socials and were rooting for us in the office, that lifted our spirits so much”.
