NFRC Scotland Award Winners 2024
Awards & CertificationsBauder recently attended the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) Scottish Roofing Awards 2024 at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow and was successful in three categories. The awards were won for Reinforced Bitumen Membranes, Bituminous Hot Applied Liquid Waterproofing, and Multi-Discipline Project.
For the category ‘Reinforced Bitumen Membranes’, Glasgow-based Stow College was a refurbishment project which was awarded for showcasing Bauder and Ashton Building Systems’ ability to diagnose complex roof issues. Due to the complexity of the project, Bauder carried out a moisture mapping survey, utilising a moisture mapping Troxler gauge to determine the true condition of the original roof. Bauderflex reinforced bitumen waterproofing was specified to replace the existing roof system.
Dunfermline-based project, Woodmill and St Columba's RC High School, won their award for ‘Bituminous Hot Applied Liquid Waterproofing’. The project itself was one of the biggest Passivhaus projects for Bauder and Procladd. The specification comprised of Bauder Bakor Hot Melt System along with BauderJFRI PREMIUM+ inverted insulation. This was used to achieve the required thermal performance, due to it being the first of its kind to use the Scottish Government’s and Scottish Futures Trust’s Net Zero Public Sector Buildings Standard.
The ‘Multi-Discipline Project’ category winner: Central Quay in Glasgow, was a multi-system project of 35 roof areas across 4 tower blocks. It utilised various Bauder waterproofing and landscaping solutions, including the Bauder Bakor Hot Melt System, Bauder Thermofol 1.5 mm single ply, Bauder LiquiDEK, and Bauder Total Roof System (BTRS), installed seamlessly by Briggs Amasco. The specification was to provide a vast and sustainable recreational roof space as part of a residential development plan.
The Scottish Roofing Awards is an industry-wide event recognising the success of regional members across all roofing disciplines. A range of criteria is considered by the panel of judges including quality workmanship, innovation, strong supply chain management, and impressive responses to challenges on the project.
Congratulations to our approved contractors on their winning projects and all nominees.
