Noah's Ark Children's Hospice Revisit

Charity, Social Value

Bauder challenged its regional teams to ‘give something back’ this year, so Regional Manager Hayden Davies’ team  within the southern division returned to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice in Barnet, an award-winning project originally completed at the end of 2019.

At the time, Bauder worked with Squire & Partners and 8Build Ltd on a new building for the hospice, providing a range of roofing solutions – including a Thermofol PVC single ply system complemented by BauderSOLAR G LIGHT photovoltaic solution and green roof elements.

This spring, Green Roof Product Manager, Chris Roddick arranged with the hospice for members of the southern team to spend a day onsite to improve on the roof’s planting range and assist with grounds maintenance.

‘As part of the green roof works, the team introduced some additional plug planting species and created sand piles and log piles to assist with increased biodiversity.

‘Additionally, we helped dismantle and remove a broken playhouse, weeded some very overgrown ornamental flowerbeds and sanded and stained a gate and picnic bench.

‘As part of our day we were shown around the facilities. They offer first class care for the child but also the wider family, including primarily respite care but end of life care also.

‘We enjoyed the experience and are looking to join them on their scheduled gardening days in future.’
