The specification

The Bauder Single Ply Thermofol Green Roof System was specified for this project. This single source, lightweight system provides a (U-Value) of 0.15 W/m²K and incorporates a multifunctional water retention and filter layer. The weather tight roof covering is secure and free draining.

Project challenges

It was paramount that the timing of the delivery and resources available were planned effectively to ensure the Green Roof was not compromised due to the BauderGREEEN XF 301 vegetation blanket being harvested as a live product. Working together as a team was key to a successful project delivery.

All waterproofing systems were installed through workmanship that complied with current Codes of Practice, BS6229. By joining forces with approved contractor ICS roofing and taking a collaborative approach, the installation of this project was smooth, and all installation challenges were identified and resolved at the design stage.

This installation follows the ‘Safe2Torch’ guidance produced by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) as a heat welding method was used to install the Single Ply Membrane.
