Smart Systems Ltd

Smart Systems Ltd, the UK’s leading supplier of architectural aluminium systems have a 60,000m² hi-tech manufacturing facility in Bristol. When conducting a roof survey and condition report, a variety of integrity issues were identified relating to the failing membrane, manifesting themselves with obvious signs of visible water damage.

Bauder was instructed by CY Associates (agent and consultancy providing sales and technical marketing consulting solutions in the specialist roofing and facades sector) on behalf of Smart Systems. They were asked to propose a new waterproofing solution to the warehouse and office roof areas. The works needed to be completed within a 7-month time period.

BauderTHERMOFOL U 15 V FR was chosen to overlay the pre-existing roof and was carried out while the site remained fully operational.

The Grove Hotel

Shortlisted for Best Refurbishment 2022.

Set in the Hertfordshire countryside, The Grove Hotel is a luxury five-star retreat with an award-winning spa, championship golf course and features unique restaurants and bars.
 
In 2022 there was major water ingress from the roof of the Amber Suite, which needed rectifying. The client (Ralph Trustee) required a new waterproofing system that would last for more than 20 years. They also needed the roof finishes to complement the surrounding vegetated areas, as the balconies of the luxury hotel rooms overlooked the roof. The specification and installation of this project was contractor led by Delomac Roofing.

For this project, the existing roof was replaced with the BauderTHERMOFOL U 15 FR membrane, and included Plug Plants to match the existing ground aesthetics.

The SPRA Awards will take place on June 15th at the Hilton, Leeds, and is set to be the biggest SPRA event yet.
