Bauder transforms Coventry Jesus Centre's roof
Bauder has helped to restore the Coventry Jesus Centre roof to its former glory as part of a CRASH charity project.
The homeless charity applied to CRASH to repair the roof of its day centre that had been neglected for over 20 years and was showing clear signs of damage. After reviewing the application, CRASH, the charity that assists homelessness and hospice charities with construction-related projects, awarded the centre a £9,480 grant to help with the project.
Following a conditional survey, Bauder’s Area Technical Manager, Ewan Davidson, found several areas of fragile deck as well as a lack of insulation, resulting in poor U Values for the building.
Ewan explains, “I put together an appropriate specification that included compliance to building regulations, in particular Part L thermal performance, which encompassed our Bauderflex system with 120mm FATE insulation.”

Keen to involve other operatives from the roofing industry, Ewan enlisted the help of Martin Rice, Managing Director at General Asphalt Ltd.
Ewan continued, “General Asphalt Ltd did a fantastic job with installing our system and I hope the Jesus Centre are happy with the final outcome.”
The project was completed with minimal disruption and within the centre’s desired time frame.

The finished result is fantastic and will help us to continue to provide a safe and welcoming space for our visitors in our basic needs drop in.’’
