Latest ‘Stay Alert’ Government Guidelines Uplifts Construction Industry

The Government’s recovery strategy published on Monday 11th May makes clear that construction work should continue and be encouraged providing sites are able to operate safely in line with the new ‘Stay Alert’ COVID-19 Secure guidelines.
 
This recognition furthers our business operations that have continued throughout the pandemic to ensure we provide all our usual design and specification services to our clients and safely supply roof system materials to our customers.

Supply of our roofing products remains uninterrupted
The supply and delivery of our roofing materials continue as normal as we maintain an uplift of stock by 50% here in the UK on our regular levels.  Our products remain distributed through four separate warehouses providing us with flexibility to mitigate the impact of any supply challenges from any one of our distribution sites.

Our warehouses are following the updated guidelines released on Monday 11th May alongside the established strict social distancing and advised health precautions so that we can receive incoming deliveries of products, fully stock our warehouses, collate and pack orders, and load lorries for distribution to site.

Working to get projects on site
We are here to support constructors and our approved contractors with projects and installations that are restarting alongside those that have endured throughout this time.  

Our team of dedicated coordinators is fully operational to deal with all enquiries and orders through remote access to our systems.

Our flat roof products are despatched and delivered to working sites that can follow the latest Public Health England advice and the Site Operating Procedures (SOL).
 
Site technician support for flat roof installations
Visits to construction sites for inspections of installations which cannot be carried out remotely will be carried out in adherence to Government Guidelines in force at that time, aligning to our Risk Assessment and Employee Guidelines documentation to ensure best practice.

Design and specification of flat roof solutions
All our area technical managers and technical design team are fully operational via phone, email and other digital channels to provide the support needed to specify flat roof solutions on projects.

We continue to provide detail drawings, technical calculations, tapered design schemes, and more for specifications.

At Bauder, we continue to pull together and ensure we maintain our accustomed service for everyone we work with.

    Fortified by latest Government statement to everyone continuing to work safely in the UK construction sector

    On Tuesday 31st March, The Rt Hon Alok Sharma MP, Secretary of State for Business, Energy & Industry Strategy released an open letter setting out the Government’s support to, “… all those who are working tirelessly within the construction industry.  Delivering on large or small construction sites across the country, in builders’ merchants and logistic providers, or producing construction and mineral products.  The letter continues with “Our country and our economy needs all our support. And the construction industry has answered the call to action.” [sic]

    With this letter of backing, we are continuing our business operations, just as we have for the last two weeks, to ensure that our flat roof products are despatched and delivered to working sites that can follow the latest Public Health England advice and the Site Operating Procedures (SOL).

    Our teams are working remotely delivering all stages of the design, specification, tender, product order process, delivery, installation and inspection of our flat roof solutions.

    We are continuing to follow official government advice as it develops as everyone’s health and wellbeing is our top priority

    We are continuing to monitor and follow the official guidance of the Government and are operating our business within the parameters set out by the Prime Minister. Be assured, everyone’s health and wellbeing are our top priority. 

    For our specifying clients, we are operating as usual via phone, email and other digital channels to provide you with the support you need in order to design flat roof solutions on your projects. All our area technical managers and technical team are working remotely to provide detail drawings, calculations, tapered design schemes, and more for your specification.

    For our approved contractors, we are still following the Government’s current view that work on construction sites can continue providing the site is able to operate within the Public Health England guidelines and social distancing is followed. This is further supported by the Road Haulage Association in that deliveries to site are safe to be maintained, again where the advice is followed. This means that our deliveries continue, and we can provide our materials to your projects for installation. 

    We have increased stock here in the UK and have implemented an uplift of 50% on our usual levels.  Our UK stock is distributed through four separate warehouses providing us with flexibility to mitigate the impact of any supply challenges from any one of our distribution sites.

    Our warehouses are following strict social distancing and all recommended health precautions so that we can receive incoming products, fully stock our warehouses, collate and pack your orders, and load lorries for distribution to site or your yard premises.

    We are responding to each situation as site circumstances change and are here should you need us to check any of your orders or deliveries.

    We are constantly reviewing our practices in this ever changing situation.

    We are absolutely following official government advice given on 23 March 2020 as everyone’s health and wellbeing is our top priority

    In this everchanging situation we are absolutely following the official guidance of the Government, and as such we are operating our business within the parameters set out on the evening of 23 March 2020 by the Prime Minister. Everyone’s health and wellbeing is our top priority. 

    We are not included within the list of business types asked to close and so are able to continue to support our customers and clients.

    For our specifying clients, we are still able to operate as usual via phone, email and other digital channels to provide you with the support you need in order to continue to specify flat roof solutions on your projects. All our area technical managers and technical design team are working remotely to provide detail drawings, calculations, tapered design schemes, and more for your specification.

    For our approved contractors, we are following the Government’s stance that work on construction sites can continue providing the site is able to operate within the Public Health England guidelines and social distancing is followed. This is further supported by the Road Haulage Association in that deliveries to site are safe to be maintained, again where the advice is followed. This means that our deliveries continue, and we can provide our materials to your projects for installation. To ensure there is no interruption in our supply, we have increased stock levels here in the UK and currently hold in excess of £1 million worth of extra stock (50% increase on our usual levels).  All our stock is distributed through four separate warehouses to mitigate the impact of any supply challenges from any one of our distribution sites.

    For our staff, we have embraced the recommendation that travelling to and from work, or for the purposes of work, should not occur unless it absolutely cannot be done from home. As such, our staff are working remotely to deliver their roles with a skeleton team at our head office in Ipswich. All our external and work from home teams can securely access our internal systems remotely so that we can continue to work alongside our clients to maintain their business operations and site construction work.

    So, despite the current difficulties and disturbances we are working and pulling together to ensure we keep our accustomed service to clients, and supply of roof products and systems to customers as close to business as usual as we possibly can. Our aim is that you don’t even notice a difference.

  • COVID-19 Update - 09:26 19th March​ 2020

    We are constantly reviewing our practices in this ever changing situation.

    How we are operating within the Coronavirus situation to keep staff and clients safe whilst maintaining all our business operations.

    For our clients we are here, operating as usual, on the end of a phone or email and also Skype should you wish.  All our technical managers are fully operational, resolving your design challenges, proposing the right flat roof waterproofing systems, green or blue roofs, and PV solutions.  Our technical department is working remotely to create tapered insulation schemes, providing technical calculations and specifications.  Our accustomed service and support continues - the one thing we aren’t doing is arranging unnecessary meetings in your office.

    Roof surveys and site inspections are still being carried out where required as generally these can be conducted unaccompanied, allowing us to follow all recommendations for health protection without close contact with anyone else.
     
    For the supply of roof products for Bauder installations we manufacture from eight factories across Germany and Austria and currently all production facilities are fully operational. The movement of our goods remain largely unaffected across Europe and some additional border checks are taking place which obviously takes slightly longer than usual.

    To ensure there is no interruption in our supply, we have increased stock levels here in the UK and currently hold in excess of £1 million worth of extra stock (50% increase on our usual levels). All our stock is distributed through four separate warehouses to mitigate the impact of a possible lockdown of one of our distribution sites.

    For our staff, over 70% are working remotely with minimal personnel at our HQ in Ipswich and we are wholeheartedly following all the Government’s advice and recommendations. As well as all the fundamental hygiene precautions, we have vetoed Company gatherings and internal meetings and are insisting on minimal contact between Bauder staff.

    So, when we say “it's business as usual” we really mean it.  We are absolutely here for all our clients, customers, staff, their families and all those we interact with in our day to day activities.
