Environmental Credentials
This environmentally friendly version of hot melt structural waterproofing contains post-consumer recycled content to give the best environmental credentials.
Insulation
The Bauder insulation has extremely high thermal efficiency and is CFC and HCFC free. It has zero ODP and a Global Warming Potential of just 4.298KgCO2-Eq/Kg. As part of our PIR insulation manufacturing process, offcuts and waste is readily recycled and used in the production of hand cleansers and decking materials.
Bitumen
This is the primary raw material used in the production of bituminous waterproofing membranes. It is a by-product of oil refining and is essentially the waste material of this petrochemical process and therefore has little additional detrimental effect on the environment. The reinforcement used in our RBM capping sheets is made from recycled polyester. Bauder utilises a shredder to recycle any offcuts of bituminous membranes into production. When roofs are replaced the bituminous layers can be incinerated for heating and electricity production.
