It was a case of blood, sweat and gears for the Bauder charity cycle team, who pedaled over 400 miles from the office in Carrickmacross, Ireland to their Head Office in Ipswich. The challenge involved 50 members of staff in an eight day relay with the separate teams cycling an average of 70 miles a day. Over £16,000 was raised in aid of three worthy charities; CRASH, the construction and property industry charity for the homeless; the Alzheimer’s Society in Ireland and the St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich which provides palliative care for patients with active, progressive and advanced illnesses. Staff and supporters gathered at the Ipswich Head Office in Broughton Road to welcome home cyclists on the final leg of the challenge and to present a cheque to St Elizabeth Hospice on behalf of all the charities supported.
