Extensive green roofs for visual appreciation

These green roofs are designed to be largely unheeded and not for general access or for leisure purposes by the public. They have shallow substrate depths and utilise vegetation that is generally self-sustaining, drought and frost tolerant and therefore low maintenance.  Extensive green roofs are delivered for a variety of reasons, with a popular reason being for biodiversity and meeting a BDAP.

So, what is the primary purpose for your green roof?

In many instances an extensive green roof can be a planning requisite and the ideal solution is the simplest, lightweight sedum blanket system.  Other options are substrate-based systems that are plug planted to the client's requirement or seeded for natural colonisation

Cradle to Cradle Silver Certification

Our sedum blankets, FX301 and XF300, have been certifed through the Cradle-2-Cradle standard which guides manufacturers through a continual improvement process that looks at a product through five quality categories — material health, material re-utilisation, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness.
