Extensive Green Roof Components
Waterproofing layers
The build up for the waterproofing system that sits under the extensive green roof set up typically follows the Bauder Total Roof System which has a choice of root resistant capping sheets to either chemically or mechanically prevent damage through root penetration whilst still ensuring the waterproofing integrity of the roof. An extensive green roof can also be applied to a single-ply Thermoplan-T waterproofing system, though this is only recommended in certain circumstances.

Drainage and moisture retention fleece layers
The main function of the drainage and moisture retention fleece is provide correct drainage for the roof and to balance water levels for the plants by preventing them from being deprived of water and also to avoid their roots from being immersed in water for long periods of time.
